The assessment program is provided free of charge in response to requests, and it is non-regulatory

Pro-active companies often can lower this overhead cost by managing their disposal requirements. Finding ways to change unnecessary wasteful practices and recycling whatever material they can are just two ways to combat the expense of garbage disposal. Much of the general waste businesses are throwing away as garbage could easily be hauled away as recyclable material at much lower cost.

Business waste assessments are offered to Spokane County businesses free of charge and can range from sending a packet of information outlining the most readily accepted materials and how to prepare them to an on-site consultation and survey to determine the kinds and amounts of recyclable materials the particular business generates. An attempt to identify unnecessary waste generating practices is made and assistance is available to determine the cost/benefits of developing a waste reduction and recycling program. A customized report detailing the findings can be prepared. Documented information, including graphs, can be provided prior to, during, and after your program has begun.
